Our coaching staff is a talented and diverse team, each member bringing their own background. Included is an experienced pitching and head softball coach, alongside a former collegiate athlete who currently serves as the Head Coach of varsity softball at Legacy High School. At TC Lightspeed, we create a strong culture centered on high repetitions, skill development, and a positive mental approach. We are dedicated to fostering a balanced environment where players receive both feedback and positive reinforcement.
Joe McCue brings an exceptional level of experience, leadership, and dedication to the game, with 43 years of coaching experience across multiple levels of softball. His long-standing commitment to athlete development has made a lasting impact on countless players and programs.
A 1996 High School State Champion coach, Joe has led teams to 10 district titles, consistently building competitive, disciplined programs rooted in strong fundamentals and teamwork. For the past 10 years, he has served as Head Travel Coach for Lightspeed, where he has focused on preparing athletes for high-level competition and the next stage of their softball careers.
Throughout his coaching career, Coach McCue has helped more than 30 athletes advance to the collegiate level, emphasizing not only skill development but also the work ethic, accountability, and mental toughness required to succeed beyond high school. Joe believes in developing well-rounded athletes and takes pride in mentoring players both on and off the field.
Katlyn McCue brings passion, experience, and a player-first mindset to her role as a coach. A former collegiate pitcher at Flagler College, Katlyn competed at a high level and was named Peach Belt Conference Second Team All-Conference in 2018. She was also recognized as the 2017 TC Palm All-Area Female Athlete, highlighting her impact both on and off the field.
Katlyn currently serves as the Head Coach of the Legacy High School Softball program and also coaches with Lightspeed, where she works closely with athletes to develop high-level skills and competitive confidence. With four years of coaching experience, she brings a strong emphasis on fundamentals, mental toughness, and team culture.
In addition to her coaching roles, Katlyn is a private pitching instructor, specializing in pitcher development, mechanics, and mental performance in the circle. Coach McCue is committed to helping athletes grow not only as softball players, but as confident, disciplined young leaders. She believes success is measured by effort, growth, and character—on the field and beyond.
Brandon Hudson brings years of playing and coaching experience to the organization, with over a decade dedicated to coaching fast pitch softball. A former baseball player, Coach Hudson offers a well-rounded understanding of the game and a passion for helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for competition.
Over the past 10 years, he has worked with players of all skill levels, focusing on fundamentals, player development, game awareness, and mental toughness. Coach Hudson believes in creating a competitive but supportive environment where athletes are challenged to grow, push themselves, and succeed as teammates and individuals.
His coaching style centers around hard work, accountability, and positive leadership, while always encouraging players to compete with confidence and respect for the game. Coach Hudson is committed to helping athletes continue to grow both on the field and in everyday life.
